RAMHOA is excited to announce that a Marina team is participating in this year's Port Alfred Corporate Tennis Cup tournament. We urge all Marina residents to come out and have some fun supporting both our home team and a worthwhile community fundraising event. Scroll down for all the details...
Tournament Updates:
Two groups of four teams will compete over a number of rounds, followed by the play offs, with the finals in the last week. Each team will consist of two men and two women, who will play one doubles game and one mixed doubles game per fixture. (The weekly fixtures will be broadcast on our WhatsApp group and on Facebook.)
Matches will be scheduled from 17h30 on Tuesday evenings on the following dates:
- Round 1: Tuesday 2 May 2023
- Round 2: Tuesday 9 May 2023
- Round 3: Tuesday 16 May 2023
- Round 4: Tuesday 23 May 2023
- Play Offs: Tuesday 30 May 2023
- Finals: Friday 9 June 2023
- Prize Giving Event / Quiz Evening: Sat 10 June 2023
To make each competition evening a festive occasion, the Port Alfred Tennis Club will provide the following services and entertainment:
- Bar serving drinks and beverages and tuck shop selling snacks.
- Kids’ corner with jumping castle.
- The catering committee will run a kitchen providing wonderful meals for sale. These meals will vary with each evening’s theme.
- On the final evening of the tournament there will be prize giving and a social trivia quiz with music and snack platters.
- Great prizes up for grabs for all eight participating teams.
(In the event of a weather disruption, the game will be postponed to the following night)
The Corporate Tennis Cup 2023 will be the main fundraiser for the Port Alfred Tennis Club this year. Proceeds will go towards the buying of a generator with the capacity to manage the lights for the Clubs four courts. Proceeds of this year’s Corporate Tennis Cup will go towards the buying of a generator with a capacity to manage the lights for the 4 tennis courts as well as a switchover from single phase to 3phase electricity supply. This will allow the Port Alfred Tennis Club to host uninterrupted tennis to the community of Port Alfred.

Week 1 results

Last night's first round of the Corporate Cup at the Tennis Club saw some top class tennis, played under lights with a wonderful atmosphere of comraderie and support. Well done to all. Scoring based on a points system with teams playing Men's Doubles, Ladies Doubles and 4 rounds of Mixed Doubles.
Join us next Tuesday evening, 9th May, for a boerie roll and a cold beverage in support of our team and the community.
