Living Alongside Nature

11 August 2026

What’s living around the Marina? Look a little closer and you’ll discover that there is far more to living on the Marina than meets the eye.

From the plants growing in our gardens to birds along the water, insects on a sunny wall and wildlife spotted on an afternoon walk, our surroundings are home to an extraordinary variety of life.

As part of our Blue Flag efforts, we’re inviting Marina homeowners to help us record what’s here by using the iNaturalist app.

It’s wonderfully simple. When you spot something interesting, take a photograph and upload it as an observation. iNaturalist can help suggest what you’ve seen, while your sighting becomes part of a growing record of the species living in and around our Marina.

Every observation adds another little piece to the picture. And you don’t need to be a wildlife expert. You simply need to be curious enough to stop, look and take a photograph.

If you’d like some help downloading or getting started with the app, pop into the Marina office and we’ll gladly help you set it up.

The more we notice, the more we understand. And the more we understand, the better we can appreciate and protect the remarkable natural environment that makes living at Royal Alfred Marina so special.
